HopaHop

Payments, delivery and cancellation

Summary. The full rules are in the Terms and conditions (sections 5, 6 and 8).

What you pay

HopaHop is a carpooling platform: it connects drivers who are making a trip anyway with passengers who want to travel with them and share the costs. For the intermediation service, the passenger pays a 10% commission in the app on top of the price per seat set by the driver. The price per seat is paid by the passenger directly to the driver, in cash.

Example: the driver asks 40 lei per seat. The passenger sees 44 lei: a 4 lei commission, paid by card in the app, and 40 lei paid in cash to the driver.

All prices are in lei (RON). The amount shown before payment is the final amount; no other costs are added. The operator is not registered for VAT.

How you pay

The commission is paid by Visa or Mastercard bank card on the secure NETOPIA Payments page; NETOPIA Payments is a payment institution authorised by the National Bank of Romania. The app takes you to this page after you tap “Book”. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment (3-D Secure). HopaHop does not see or keep your card details.

Delivery of the service

The HopaHop service is digital; we do not deliver physical goods. It is delivered immediately after the payment is confirmed: the booking shows as confirmed in the app, the seat is taken off the ride, and the passenger and the driver see each other's phone number to organise the trip. The trip is made by the driver, on the date and at the time in the listing.

Cancellation and refunds

You cancel directly in the app; before you cancel, the app shows the amount that will be returned. The money goes back to the same card, through NETOPIA Payments; how long it takes to appear depends on your bank.
